Domestic test platforms will accelerate production in the defense industry

The company that produces simulation technologies, which started its operations in InnoPark Konya Technology Development Zone, aims to end foreign dependency in real-time robotic applications, simulation and test systems.

Sanlab, which established an R&D and production facility in Konya InnoPark with the support of Mevlana Development Agency (MEVKA), develops high-tech simulation projects for many areas of the industry.

Aiming to produce high-tonnage test systems for the defense industry, the company also nationalized the “6DOF Axis Motion Platform”, which enables the accurate and error-free production of defense products with the support of ASELSAN.

The company, which is one of the few companies in the world in this field, enables the vibrations and accelerations of air, sea and land vehicles to be tested with high precision and reality with the motion platform it produces for the defense industry.

Movement platforms; With its high durability in military test areas, it also reduces prototype costs to a great extent and enables R&D periods to be shortened.

“We developed the mobile platform with the support program of the state”

Salih Kükrek, the founding partner of the company, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they entered the industry with the emergence of the importance of simulation technology for the prevention of an occupational accident.

Noting that they carry out CNC, assembly and electric vehicle maintenance simulations in the sector, Kükrek said that they have been producing real-time robotics, test platforms and high-tech simulators since 2009.

Kükrek stated that they developed simulation technologies for Turkey’s most important institutions and continued as follows:

“We are a simulation and robotics company. We have made simulators about land vehicles, we use realistic physics here. It is called realistic physics to have the same effect in the mathematical model of the vehicle, what is actually felt in the simulators. To achieve this, many people from different branches such as mathematicians, vehicle dynamics specialists and mechatronics engineers are working. There is also a software dimension. We developed this mobile platform with the support program of the state. There is a serious nationalization move in the field of defense, we are proud to contribute to this in the field of robotics.”

Competed with the global leader of the industry

Explaining that they could not obtain the product they needed to develop from abroad during their establishment years, Kükrek said:

“Since a company that has no rivals in the world did not provide the product we requested, we decided to develop test platforms. ASELSAN showed great will in this regard and said, ‘We must nationalize this business.’ Currently, our mobile platforms are used in the production and R&D processes of ASELSAN and ASELSAN Konya plants. The remote-controlled weapon systems produced in ASELSAN Konya are tested on this platform before they are mounted on a military vehicle. Each product passes through the mobile platform and, if appropriate, is mounted on the military vehicle. When we upload the road data of the land vehicle to our platform, the product is tested before it is assembled and the vehicle is on the road. It provides great convenience in terms of cost and time. Assembling the product, disassembling and installing the runway… The test platform solves the process that would take weeks without taking 10 minutes, it is a great convenience.”

Domestic test platform became one of the favorites of IDEF 2021

Pointing out that the annual production capacity of Kükrek is 36, “We can increase this even more. We sell it to civil and military organizations. We did not give the test platform abroad, but we export our simulators. It is a domestic and national solution, even a unique solution in the world. It has been demanded by friendly and allied countries. It attracted great attention at IDEF 2021 Fair.” used the phrase.
