Turkey’s railway network target is growing rapidly

Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, said, “We aim to increase railway investments to 60 percent and the railway network to 16,775 kilometers in 2023.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made an examination at Sorgun High Speed Train Station in Yozgat, where they came by high-speed train with Vice President Fuat Oktay.

Karaismailoğlu emphasized that railways have economic and strategic importance. Pointing out that the railway is safe and comfortable, Karaismailoğlu said that significant investments have been made in this area for the last 19 years.

Karaismailoğlu said, “We are a country that dominates the iron Silk Road that dominates Europe from China,” and that a national mobilization has been declared to ensure more widespread use of railways in freight and human transportation.

Railway investments will increase to 60 percent in 2023

Karaismailoğlu said that 1213 kilometers of high-speed train line was built and the conventional line length was increased to 11 thousand 590 kilometers.

Pointing out that all lines have been rehabilitated, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have increased our total railway network to 12,803 kilometers. We have become 8th in the world and 6th in Europe in terms of high-speed train operation. In 2020, we took these works to the next level and started the railway reform. 2023′ We aimed to increase the railway investments to 60 percent and the railway network to 16,775 kilometers in 2018. We are making efforts to produce domestic and national technologies for railway modernization,” he said.

Travel time between Ankara and Sivas will decrease

Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the travel time between Ankara and Sivas will decrease from 12 hours to 4 hours at the first stage and then to 2 hours after the completion of the project.

Explaining that Yozgat High Speed ​​​​Train Station, which has started its work, will be put into service as of this summer, Karaismailoğlu said:

“We are getting one step closer every day to completing the infrastructure of the future Turkey in human, cargo and data transportation. Every road we make connects our country with the world in every corner, while increasing our claim in global trade. We expand the business of our industrialists, pave the way for our tourism professionals, and give our farmers a vision to sell their product in the world market. “Under the leadership of our President of Turkey, this infrastructure will be one of our biggest pillars as we move towards becoming one of the largest economies in the world. Thanks to regional development, employment will increase while each of our provinces turns into a strong center. Together, we will achieve the holistic development we aim for.”

When asked by a citizen when the train station in Yozgat will open after his statement, Karaismailoğlu replied, “It will be fully opened in July at the latest. It may be earlier.”
