Turkish company becomes Europe’s second fastest growing steel producer

According to the data announced by the World Steel Association, Tosyalı Holding increased its crude steel production by 10.49 percent in 2020 compared to the previous year, while being the second fastest growing crude steel producer in Europe, and jumping two steps to the 82nd place in the world ranking.

According to the 2020 world crude steel production figures announced by the World Steel Association in a special publication every year, Tosyalı Holding increased its crude steel production from 3.91 million tons in 2019 to 4.32 million tons in 2020 with an increase of 10.49 percent, It moved from 84th to 82nd place. Despite the pandemic conditions, Tosyalı Holding has also become the second fastest growing steel producer in Europe.

Tosyalı Algerie, the country’s largest industrial establishment in Algeria apart from hydrocarbon-based production, stands out as one of the largest technological steel investments on a global scale.

With the world’s largest DRI production facilities with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons, Tosyalı Algerie, which has the world’s largest arc furnace working with DRI, broke the world record by reaching a production figure of 2.23 million tons in 2020.

Tosyalı will use EAF Quantum technology, a first in Turkey, in the Iskenderun Sarıseki Plant investment, where innovation and digital transformation will be integrated into the entire production process. This facility, when put into operation, will produce 4 million tons of flat steel annually and replace Turkey’s annual imports of 4 billion dollars.
