“We aim to invest 198 billion dollars in transportation and communication until 2053”
Minister Karaismailoğlu talked about the change in the information and communication technologies sector since 2003, the increase in the number of fixed broadband, mobile and broadband subscribers and the fiber line length, and recently put Türksat 5B, Türkiye’nin most efficient and powerful satellite, into service. Expressing that they aim to increase the fiber network length to 1 million kilometers, Karaismailoğlu said that they will contribute 2 trillion dollars to production and 1 trillion dollars to national income with a total transportation and communication investment of 198 billion dollars until 2053.

“We will hold the 5G tender in 2023”

“With our extensive trials for many innovative projects and applications such as record-breaking 5G speed trials with our domestic and global business partners, Türkiye’nin first private industrial mobile network, the first live 5G match broadcast, the first online remote surgery with 5G support, and the first use of smart tractors. We are preparing our country for the future with the New Generation Smart City Projects, Intelligent Transportation Systems and IoT technologies that we have implemented as ready for 5G. In addition, we continue to contribute to the ULAK base station project, which is one of the most important components of the localization and nationalization process of high-tech communication infrastructures. Türk Telekom became the operator providing service in the largest number of cities over completely domestic LTE stations in 2021.

In addition to using the domestic and national 5G technologies that we will produce, our country has a great potential to export to other countries.
