Speaking at the “Production Technologies Venture Acceleration Program 5G@EndTech Demo Day” event, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank said, “There is no Turkey that watches the transformations from afar anymore. There is a Turkey that invests in the right technology at the right time. We do what we do in UAVs and Togg. “Let no one doubt that we will also do it in 5G. In this direction, we have prepared our roadmap at the point of life connected with 5G and beyond technologies,” he said.
The ‘Production Technologies Enterprise Acceleration Program 5G@EndTech Demo Day’ event, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with the support of the Presidential Investment Office, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB) and the TÜBİTAK Turkey Industry Management Institute (TÜSSIDE) Tuzla was held in . Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who attended the event, made a speech here.
“THUS WE WILL SEE INNOVATIONS IN MANY AREAS”
Mustafa Varank said that in a world where everything is interconnected and interacting, the criteria of innovation have become dependent on the prevalence, reliability, and speed of telecommunication systems.
Noting that for now, 5G is the latest technology that enables higher data rates, more advanced network capacities, and lower latency, Varank said, “In this sense, 5G and beyond technologies will have an important role in determining the level of global competitiveness and welfare in the coming years. We will see innovations in many fields such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, robotics, and production technologies by taking voice, data, and image transmission to an advanced level.
“DO NOT SHOULD ANYONE SHOULD WE DO IN 5G WHAT WE DID IN UAVS AND TOGG”
No one should doubt that what we have done in UAVs and Togg, we will also do in 5G. In this direction, we have prepared our roadmap at the point of life connected with 5G and beyond technologies. With this roadmap, we evaluated the opportunities that 5G and beyond communication technologies will bring. We have now determined our strategies in the dimensions of ecosystem development, legislation, and standards, technological maturity, and vertical sectors. Hopefully, we will share our roadmap with the public in the near future,” he said. We have now determined our strategies in terms of technological maturity and vertical sectors. Varank said, “With the end-to-end domestic and national 5G communication network project, which includes SMEs, industry, and universities, supported by TÜBİTAK, we have covered significant distances for the domestic and national development of the 5G infrastructure. We have successfully completed the domestic and national 5G core network software, the radio access network software that will enable 5G devices to access the core network. The design of radio frequency components, antennas, and transmitters for 5G base stations has been completed and field tests are currently underway. Of course, we will start to actively use the outputs of the project in the field,” he said.
