Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, made a statement regarding the energy investments made in Sinop.
Dönmez talked about the energy problems in Sinop and we gave the necessary instructions. We agreed to work on some issues in more detail. Last year, 68.2 million Turkish Liras was invested in Sinop.
Until 2002, when we came to power, the amount of investment made in Sinop was not even one million, it was 800 thousand liras. In our period, only 68.2 million Turkish Liras was invested last year. In the last 18 years, the investment made in the province of Sinop, in the fields of electricity, gas and mining, is 1.51 billion liras.
Sinop is also a rich city in terms of underground resources. There are underground riches such as marble and limestone, especially clay used in brick and tile manufacture in Boyabat region. For 2021, an investment of 50 million liras in electricity distribution and 10 million liras in gas distribution is planned for Sinop.”
