Stating that they are among the few countries that can produce devices with this technology by producing the military turbo fan engine TF6000, which is the most popular part of TEKNOFEST, Akşit said, “We worked hard to reach this point. In recent years, we have entered into a serious development and breakthrough with the serious encouragement and support of our President. We have made significant progress in 10 years, especially in aircraft engines.

Let’s not say 10 years, we even developed and produced 11 different national engines in 8 years. Of course, it is extremely important to be able to manufacture high-tech engines such as the TF6000 and that Turkey is among the 4-5 countries that have these technologies. We have become the largest supplier of the world’s best-selling engines. This event shows that we have entered the giants league. These developments are a proud development for us.”
UP TO 10000 HP
Expressing that the TF-6000 has similarities with the engines that power the F-16s, Aksit said, “The TF6000 is the first military turbo fan engine in this class. It is an engine with no bypass ratio, that is, a low bypass ratio, more developed for military use. In terms of technology, the combustion chamber material technologies and cooling technologies that we developed in our TS1400 helicopter engine were applied exactly here. We even go a little further. We are currently also developing an afterburner for it, the tail section.
This engine will be in TF10000 class with afterburner. In other words, I hope it will produce up to 10000 horsepower,” he said.
There is external demand for TS1400
Expressing that there is a demand from abroad for the TS1400 engine, Aksit said, “This demand comes with the platform. There are those who want Gokbey helicopters or Atak helicopters produced with our engine from abroad. We plan to complete the certification of the engine as much as possible and bring it to the mass production stage.” said.
