TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal evaluated the latest developments on vaccine and drug studies on CNN TÜRK live broadcast. Mandal said, “2 local virus drugs will be available in August. The local VLP virus vaccine will be available at the end of the year,” he said.
“Our vaccine will be put into mass use in the fall period of 2021”
Mandal announced that Phase-3 studies on the domestic CLP coronavirus vaccine will begin in August. We are planning to start the production phase while in the phase-3 phase. Mandal said, “Our vaccine will be opened to mass use in the fall period of 2021”.
He stated that the studies on two different coronavirus vaccines other than VLP will reach the use phase at the end of the year. Mandal stated that vaccines have a very high potential to be effective against mutations.
Stating that the two drugs against coronavirus were in the Phase-2 study, Mandal announced that they expected to be used as of August.
