Having completed her education in 1995 in Germany, where she was born, Taha Uluhan had the opportunity to work with the R&D director of Compact Cars and SUV vehicles at Mercedes at the age of 23. Simultaneously, together with his fellow engineers, he focused on the most efficient recycling of lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles and their materials.

Noting that he saw that new technologies were being developed in Türkiye and that intensive efforts were being made to strengthen the industry, Taha Uluhan explained his return to Türkiye as follows: “New technoparks were being established all the time. Events such as Teknofest, which triggered the engineering spirit of our youth and were watched around the world, were held. While the world was moving towards new mobility, serious steps were being taken with Togg to enter this market in Türkiye. I came to Turkiye with the Mobility Acceleration Program of Informatics Valley in 2021. We came to the call of our President because we believe in the potential of our country.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, referring to Taha Uluhan at the “Those Who Add Value to Kocaeli, Center of Technology and Industry Award Ceremony”, said, “As long as we have such young people who are trained and believe in themselves, we produce them. Beyond producing them, now the world is in electric cars. We will compete with their countries,” he said. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank shared Uluhan’s speech on his social media account and in his message, “Young people! I would like you to listen to the story of Taha, who was born and grew up in Germany, while working at Mercedes, who saw the potential in Türkiye and returned to his country at the invitation of Bilişim Vadisi. Thanks to you, Türkiye will be the star of Europe in innovative entrepreneurship.”
