The delegation of the Organization of Turkic States headed by Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev is participating in the IV Digital Bridge 2022 International Technological Forum being held on 28-29 September 2022 in Astana.
The international event brought together more than 5 thousand participants including 300 IT companies and 200 speakers from all over the world with the rich program agenda which consists of an alley of IT startups, an exhibition of technology parks from the Turkic countries, an exhibition of IT schools, a fair of IT vacancies, a competition Astana Hub Battle, VR, GameDev platforms, an offline platform TikTok for startups.
The plenary session of the Forum started with the opening remarks of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who emphasized that, in ten years, up to 70% of products and services in the world would be based on digital platform models. He added that under these conditions, Kazakhstan being in the top 30 ranking of the most digitized UN states has set itself a strategic task – to become one of the largest digital hubs in the Eurasian space.
President Tokayev outlined top five priority areas for the country’s digital transformation that include the development of a human-centered approach, creation of favorable conditions for the IT industry, modernization of IT infrastructure, development of the digital economy and Industry 4.0 and strengthening human capital.
Following the plenary session, a special panel session under the theme of “United Digital Ecosystem: Advantages and Challenges” was held with the participation of Ministers in charge of IT of the OTS Member States.
At the panel discussions, Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev addressed the participants with a speech, where he shared the efforts within the OTS on enhancing IT cooperation with the result-oriented projects aimed at creation of innovation ecosystems and promoting digital transformation.
Secretary General Amreyev underlined existing huge potential to strengthen mutual collaboration in promoting the digital transformation in the Turkic region in almost all potential areas, starting from trade and investments through establishing multilateral electronic trading platform (e-commerce) for business communities, in customs and transport sectors by adoption of eTIR, ePermit and eCMR international systems, in agriculture by applying quarantine e-certificate.
Baghdad Amreyev also shared his views with the audience on the prospective of advancing cooperation among the Member States through implementation of various projects including “Common Mobile Device Registration System”, “Electronic signature” and “Digital Innovation Catalogue of the OTS” and etc.
In his speech, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bagdat Mussin underlined that the Digital Bridge Forum has become an effective dialogue platform where opinion leaders can discuss the development of new technologies in the context of global changes.
Minister Mussin also emphasized the importance of deepening network and cooperation among the technoparks from the member countries and highlighted that the establishment of “IT House of Turkic States” with a location in the United States of America, San-Francisco would contribute to strengthening their relations, promoting investments and improving the ecosystem for startups.
Following the panel discussions, Secretary General Amreyev and Minister Mussin signed the Joint Statement on the Development of IT Field between the OTS Secretariat and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
