According to the statement made by Bilişim Vadisi, the Robotaksi Passenger Autonomous Vehicle Competition, which aims to develop the autonomous driving algorithms of young people, is being run on a challenging track close to the real tracks this year.

The competition in Bilişim Vadisi consists of two categories: “Original Vehicle” and “Ready Car”. 21 teams in the Original Vehicle category and 9 teams in the ready-made vehicle category will compete for the championship. There will be 275 team members in the competing teams.

In the Original Vehicle category, the first prize will be 100 thousand TL, the second prize will be 75 thousand TL, and the third prize will be 50 thousand TL. In the Ready Car category, the first team will receive 75 thousand liras, the second 50 thousand liras and the third 35 thousand liras.

In the competition, where high school, associate, undergraduate, graduate students and graduates can participate individually or as a team, teams are expected to perform autonomous driving on a track that reflects the traffic situation. Those who fulfill the duties of picking up and unloading passengers, reaching the parking area, parking and following the correct route in accordance with the rules will be considered successful.

In the statement, the General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, stated that the competition continues by improving its technology every year and said, “In the teams competing in Robotaksi in the past years, those who came as high school students today received scholarships from private universities. Some of those who were at the stage of graduating last year were employed. situation,” he said.

Stating that the competition is important for the young people who will produce the autonomous vehicles of the future, General Manager İbrahimcioğlu said:

“Smart cities need technologies that will serve urban mobility. Autonomous vehicles need to be developed. Engineers and entrepreneurs need to be trained in this field. Maybe we will witness many brands that we will see in the coming period being developed by young people coming out of these tracks.”

“The track has become compliant with real traffic rules”

Informatics Valley Incubation Business Center Specialist Sümeyye Ağaç reported that they received more applications compared to previous years.

Noting that the competition track has become more difficult, Ağaç said, “The track has become suitable for real traffic rules. Competitors will follow traffic signs, pass through intersections, pick up and drop off passengers from stops and park.”
